Are the Raw Materials of the Moisture Wipes Pure Cotton?

What kind of material are moisture wipes made of? Because of the softness and comfort of the wipes, many people take it for granted that the wipes are made of cotton, but take a look at the ingredients table: non-woven fabrics, so they are a bit baffled, what is non-woven fabrics? Is it pure cotton? What is the difference with cotton?

Non-woven fabric, also known as nonwovens, is a kind of fabric produced by needle rolling machinery or carding machinery to process various fiber materials and form or bond with high pressure. It is not interwoven and knitted together from one yarn to another, but the fibers are directly bonded together by physical means. Non-woven fabric breaks through the traditional textile principle and has the characteristics of short technological flow, fast production rate, high yield, low cost, wide application and many sources of raw materials.

Hydroentangled non-woven fabrics are made by spraying a high-pressure micro-fine water jet onto one or more layers of fiber webs, so that the fibers are entangled with each other and the web is reinforced with a certain strength, and the fabric obtained is hydroentangled non-woven fabric. Spunlace non-woven fabric belongs to a kind of non-woven fabric, produced by spunlace technology, used in medical and health care, etc. Most of the moisture wipes on the market are spunlace non-woven fabric.

1. The difference between spunlace non-woven fabric and cotton wipes

The biggest difference between cotton spunlace non-woven fabric and cotton lies in the concept of the two. Spunlaced non-woven fabric is a fabric made by a special technology, while cotton is the name of the fabric material. Generally in the production of spunlace non-woven fabric, cotton will be used. In addition, polyester, viscose and so on are also used.

The raw materials commonly used for spunlace non-woven fabric are polyester staple fiber, viscose staple fiber and cotton fiber. Polyester fiber: polyester fiber is poor in moisture absorption and water absorption, and has the lowest price. Viscose fiber: it is a cellulose synthetic fiber, which belongs to cellulose synthetic fiber with our common high-end clothing fabric components, Tencel and Modal, and its moisture absorption is better than that of polyester fiber. Cotton fiber: cotton fiber used in moisture wipes is skimmed cotton, belongs to the natural fiber, and cost is higher, so its moisture wipes are also relatively more high-end. Therefore, the moisture wipes are made of cotton, but it does not mean that all the moisture spunlace wipes are made of cotton.

2. How to choose quality moisture wipes?

(1) Soft and impurity-free. Quality moisture wipes has a soft and white texture with no impurities. Poor quality wet wipes oem will have obvious impurities.

(2) No lint and no scraps. When using, quality hygiene wet wipes will not lint, while poor quality wipes will have obvious lint, skin irritation, and it is easy to make people have itchy feeling.

(3) Thickness. Generally the thicker the wipes, the higher the cost, the better the feel, disinfection moisture wipes of high-quality thickened non-woven fabric have the cotton soft texture, with no lint and no scraps. The humidity of sanitary moisture wipes is moderate, the single wipe area is large, the disinfection area is large, and it is more suitable for home disinfection!
